Our mission is to get more youth involved in the great sport of fishing and to educate them on the fundamentals of the sport. This program will be open to any young angler under the age of 18. The program is open to all youth with parent/s consent.
To accomplish our goal we plan on holding quarterly educational seminars at Angler’s Pro Tackle & Outdoors. The seminars will focus on all aspects from the basics to more advanced techniques. We also intend to provide information on multi species angling, and other aspects of angling in general.
Along with the seminars we will conduct fishing events throughout the year. This will include bank-derby style events, and boat events. More information will follow on this after we come together as a group to discuss places, times and lakes.
We will feature a special section on our website (blog) to make announcements and answer questions.
Further plans include the development of an information packet in PDF format we can send or distribute to schools. This will include information on how to set up a fishing club, educational material, suggested formats and how to affiliate with the AYL (Angler’s Youth League) for support.
As new chapters of the AYL form we will help with chapter formation, election of officers, recruiting, guest speakers, and other aspects of club operations.
We will have sign-up sheets at the event on October 26-27 at our North Richland Hills store. Parents, volunteers or others interested can get more information and sign up. We will announce at the event when we will hold the first meeting of the Angler’s Youth League.
