Water Body Report
ATHENS Water clear, 56–60 degrees; 1.97′ low. Black bass are slow on shaky heads with green pumpkin finesse worms. Crappie are fair on white jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and cut shad.
BASTROP Water clear; 66–70 degrees. Black bass are fair on chartreuse and chartreuse/white soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and nightcrawlers. Yellow catfish are slow.
BELTON Water stained; 64–68 degrees; 10.24′ low. Black bass are good on dark soft plastics on the bottom. Hybrid striper are good on silver slabs. White bass are good on silver slabs. Crappie are good on minnows under lights at night in 30 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on hot dogs and doughbait. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. SeePossession and Transport.
BONHAM Water stained, 54–59 degrees; 2.43′ low. Black bass are fair on chrome/blue Rat–L–Traps and suspending jerkbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs along the main creek channel. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.
BRIDGEPORT Water clear, 57–61 degrees; 20.43′ low. Black bass are slow on suspending jerkbaits. Crappie are slow on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. See Possession and Transport.
CEDAR CREEK Water clear; 54–59 degrees; 4.82′ low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and bladed jigs slow rolled near cover. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. Crappie are slow on jigs. Catfish are fair on trotlines and cut shad.
COOPER Water clear; 66–70 degrees; 13.41′ low. Black bass are good on bladed jigs and Rat L Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on trotlines.
FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.
FAYETTE Water stained. Black bass are good on electric blue Carolina rigged soft plastic worms and spinnerbaits along the outside edges of grass. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp over baited holes.
GIBBONS CREEK Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon gold soft plastics and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.
GRANBURY Water stained; 64–68 degrees; 8.79′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon and pumpkinseed soft plastics. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on shrimp, stinkbait, and live minnows.
GRAPEVINE Water clear; 54–58 degrees; 9.84′ low. Black bass are slow on deep crankbaits and football jigs. Crappie are fair on slow near floating docks. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.
JOE POOL Water clear; 56–60 degrees; 1.64′ low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and soft plastic jerkbaits near grass. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines and rod and reel.
LAVON Water lightly stained; 55–59 degrees; 12.41′ low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged creature baits and flipping jigs. White bass are slow on minnows and slabs. LEWISVILLE Water clear; 54–58 degrees; 8.31′ low. Black bass are slow on Bandit 200 crankbaits in mistake color and suspending jerkbaits near rocky points. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on jigs and slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. NAVARRO MILLS Water murky; 65–69 degrees; 0.24′ high. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and Li’l Fishies at night. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait and nightcrawlers. Blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
PALESTINE Water clear; 54–59 degrees; 0.98′ high. Black bass are fair on weightless wacky worms around docks. Crappie are fair on chartreuse jigs and minnows. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and minnows. White bass are fair on jigs. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
PROCTOR Water stained; 63–67 degrees; 7.75′ low. Black bass are good on black/purple and chartreuse soft plastic worms and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on minnows, small Rat–L–Traps, and roadrunners. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs in 15 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on juglines baited with cut shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
RAY HUBBARD Water clear; 56–59 degrees; 6.89′ low. Black bass are fair on medium crankbaits and hollow belly swimbaits near rip rap retrieved as slow as possible. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs and minnows. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.
RAY ROBERTS Water clear; 56–60 degrees; 7.47′ low. Black bass are fair on shallow crankbaits and Texas rig creature baits along creek channels. Weightless soft plastics near submerged grass are effective as well. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Catfish are fair on cut shad. STILLHOUSE Water stained; 65–69 degrees; 9.90′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastics, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. TEXOMA Water clear; 56–59 degrees; 6.48′ low. Black bass are fair on Flick shake worms and drop shot rigs. Suspending jerkbaits along main lake points are effective as well. Striped bass are good on slabs and. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. WEATHERFORD Water clear; 55–68 degrees; 7.78′ low. No report available. Please call ahead as low water is making launching difficult.
WHITNEY Water stained; 64–68 degrees; 11.44′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon, watermelon red, and watermelon gold spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and jigging spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on shrimp, liver, and stinkbait.

BOB SANDLIN Water clear; 55–59 degrees; 6.40′ low. Black bass are slow on watermelon flukes and weightless wacky worms. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.
CADDO Water stained; 57–60 degrees; 0.75′ high. Black bass are good on Rat–L–Traps and shallow crankbaits near wood cover. White and yellow bass are fair on minnows and slabs. CONROE Water lightly stained; 67–71 degrees; 1.98′ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and live bait.
FORK Water clear; 54–59 degrees; 5.70′ low. Black bass are slow on black/blue flipping jigs and weightless soft plastics near edges of hydrilla. Creek channel swings near deeper water are best. Yellow bass and white bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows near the bridges. Catfish are fair on trotlines and prepared bait.
HOUSTON COUNTY Water stained; 64–68 degrees; 0.61′ low. Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on pumpkinseed Brush Hogs and spinnerbaits around structure. Crappie are slow. Bream are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
LAKE O’ THE PINES Water lightly stained; 56–60; degrees; 1.45′ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Rat–L–Traps and bladed jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. LIVINGSTON Water murky; 67–71 degrees; 0.60′ high. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
MARTIN CREEK Water clear; 70–74 degrees; 0.06′ high. Black bass are good on 4–6″ plastic swimbaits rigged weedless and white bladed jigs. Crappie are slow on chartreuse jigs. White bass are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and perch.
MONTICELLO Water fairly clear; 63–67 degrees; 0.91′ high. Black bass are slow on black and yellow flipping jigs and creature baits around shallow cover. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines.
SAM RAYBURN Water murky; 66–70 degrees; 6.08′ low. Black bass are good on tequila sunrise soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits, and on watermelon red topwaters in 20–30 feet. White bass are good on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Bream are fair on worms. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and liver.

TOLEDO BEND Water murky; 66–70 degrees; 3.79′ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows.
