River2Sea Spittin’Wa Catches Fish!

River2Sea Poppin Wa FrogThe new River2Sea Spittin’ Wa is a hollow body frog bait of two sizes that has unique keel shaped and mouth design which makes it has 3 in 1 function – Spit, Chug and Walk. The Spittin’ Wa is the frog for when you need a little more commotion.  A cupped, popping mouth with bubble jets that leave a bubble trail behind to draw more strikes.  Spittin’ Wa is extremely versatile, an excellent walking frog or use short, aggressive pops for a solid chugging sound.

We’ve had them in the store for a coupl weeks now and I can’t wait to get out on the water and try’em out. But since it’s cold right now, check out this video that shows how good it works!

Since its introduction the Helios family of tournament bass rods and reels has offered elite-level performance for anglers who bring every competitive advantage to their time on the water. The all- new Helios Air, trims more than a half-ounce from high-‐speed
Helios low- profile reels to strengthen the connection between angler and fish by minimizing the presence of the gear that comes between.
Okuma Helios Air

Original Helios high-speed reels are so impressive because nothing was sacrificed to reach an incredibly light 6.3‐ounces of total weight. Helios Air is equally impressive, reaching 5.7- ounces with a no-nonsense approach to the featherweight category. Simply, the frame and side plates of the Helios Air are constructed from magnesium; maintaining all the structural integrity as well as an ergonomic, full feel in the palm.

CI4+ – Shimano Back In The Game

APT has had the reels in stock now since they hit the market, and has quite a few customers who are fishing with the new Chronarch Ci4+ for several weeks now and it’s hard to not be impressed by the look, feel, smoothness, and performance of the reel that won Best in Show at ICAST this past summer.

It’s incredibly light, sleek and powerful and the SVS Infinity Braking System allows for nearly limitless options when it comes to adjusting the brakes. We’ve heard nothing but positive feedback from the customers who have purchased them. In several cases they have purchased more to replace their existing reels.

Wild card field tops out at 49

The Bassmaster Classic Wild Card, a 3-day tournament set for later this week at Lake Okeechobee, will feature a 49-angler field, well below the 175-boat field B.A.S.S. has targeted when it announced the event in October 2012. The winner of the tournament will claim the final berth in the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.

The disclosure was made in a story posted at Bassmaster.com over the Thanksgiving holiday. B.A.S.S. typically does not publish field sizes or identities of registered competitors prior to competition. The event was open to all Elite Series anglers who failed to qualify for the Classic as well as anglers who competed in at least three Bassmaster Opens in 2013. The full field will fish the first 2 days and the Top 12 after day 2 will advance to the final day.

Among the 49-man field are 13 Floridians, a list highlighted by 9-time B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year Roland Martin. Shaw Grigsby, another Florida native, and former Classic champion Boyd Duckett are among 19 Elite Series anglers in the field.
